A Moment

I’m enjoying a moment, you ever have those?

Yesterday was a thirteen hour workday, in a room with five other people, on an 89 degree day in a building that (apparently) does not run its air conditioning on the weekends. By the end of the day I looked exactly like someone who had been up since four thirty am, which was, coincidentally, when I had to get up. All I wanted when I got home was a cold shower and a drink, because as it turned out, we were working Sunday, also.

I have the World Cup game to thank for the fact that this morning’s call we were allowed to take from homes and hotels. Yay soccer!

But the call is now over, the work weekend complete except the on call status. My out of office is on, I’m officially on vacation.

Said vacation still requires shopping, cooking, laundry and packing- all to be completed today, along with a graduation party and a baptism. I’m tired just thinking about it.

So for now, I’m having a moment. J is still sleeping, the cat and I are on the deck. The birds are singing, and so far I’ve said hello to two does, two fawns, a turkey and a bunny. The sun is shining and the flowers are happy.

It’s nice, to have a moment. Moments help you appreciate the good things in life. I hope you have one today, too.
